Solid perfume is a wonderful gift. For one thing, there is the novelty of dabbing on the balm and applying it on your pulse points instead of spraying it on. My first perfume was a pretty brooch that held a solid perfume. That was my favourite gift as a preteen. One I can still remember today.
Besides the novelty, there is the practicality of solid perfumes. These are unspillable. A bottle of perfume could leak. Its contains could spill and evaporate, leaving a too strong smell over your luggage or in your bag and a complete waste of that precious fragrance as it the spilt perfume evaporates away.
With a solid perfume, that wouldn't happen.
Then there are the travel size stick fragrances of jars of perfumed balm. I bought one of those which I carried along everywhere and it really lasted. Maybe my preference for solid fragrances is largely sentimental, but there is a practical side to it. These are so handy for a woman on the go.
