10 ways to use fragrance

Scents affect us at a primal level. A scent may bring your back to your happy childhood, like the scent of cotton candy you might associate with a happy childhood visit to a carnival. Or vanilla that reminds one of comforting scent of mom's baking.

Scent is used in seduction in the animal kingdom. Heard of pheromones? Some scents like jasmine, put men and women in the mood for romance.

Here's how you can use fragrance in your daily life.

Make a perfumed bath by sprinkling rose petals into your bath. Add a few drops of essential oil or your favourite perfume oil into the bath water before you get in.

Get in the mood for romance by burning perfumed candles in the room. Romantic scents to use include anything with rose, jasmine or ylang ylang or even vanilla.

To make a perfumed shower gel, pour unscented shower gel, enough for one shower, into a bowl. Add a few drops of your perfume oil to the shower gel and mix well. Use immediately.

To make fragrance really last, layer it. Shower with the fragrance in your shower gel, moisturize your body with a perfumed body lotion then spritz the parfum on your pulse points.

Spritz the air with your fragrance and walk, stark naked, into the perfume mist.

When you wear a low cut top, spritz fragrance in your cleavage.

Scent travels upwards. Spritz perfume behind your knees, an unexpected spot for your fragrance.

Get a perfume oil. Add a few drops of that perfume oil into an unscented body lotion to create your very own body lotion. Apply that all over your body after your shower or bath for a light fragrance.

Spritz perfume on your wrist, on your pulse, so that as you move your hands, people around you catch a whiff of your fragrance.

Spritz perfume behind your ear. There is a pulse point there that would let the fragrance waft seductively around you.
