Opium Parfum

Opium. The name of the fragrance denotes a highly addictive substance that consumes a person. Euphoric. Seductive. Something you can't get enough of.

Opium parfum now has a spinoff. Opium Bamboo, which is more oriental. Both scents are very similar, though bamboo has a slight tang to it. Like bamboo vinegar. Opium parfum is totally soft and musky with no sharp edges. Both are very woody and comforting. I tried both scents today. Here are my Opium fragrance reviews.

YSL Opium Parfum

The original perfume is oriental, sweet and spicy at first spritz. Over the next few minutes the scent settles into a sweet warm musk that is subtle yet sexy.

After 2 hours, the scent fades to a soft, musky wood that is rounded and slightly sweet with no sharp edges.

YSL Opium Parfum Bamboo

At first spritz, this is a very light, oriental fragrance. It is all woody from the start. Like a unisex soap. There is a tangy note. Bamboo vinegar perhaps?

Over the next few minutes, the scent settles into a warm musk which is predominantly woody with an oriental touch.

After 2 hours, the scent fades into a soft musky wood with an oriental touch, reminiscient of sandalwood.
