Patchouli
Patchouli has a musky scent that some people find pungent but which others find sweet and musky. Either case, it is an excellent base note in perfumery for its excellent staying power. Its scent is reminiscent of the hippy era.
The scent is strong and very male. It is a great substitute for musk, the seductive note in men's fragrances. At the same time, it is used to spice up women's fragrance to up its sex appeal.
