How to buy perfume for women
Bottles of perfume make excellent gifts for women. First of all, the packaging is gorgeous. By packaging, I mean the bottle in which the perfume is presented.
Also, every woman would love to own haute couture and every couture line has its range of perfume that bears its image. That couture gown may be out of reach but not the perfume. You can get her a Chanel gift at an affordable price - Get her Chanel No. 5. perfume You can't go wrong with that. It smells lovely and is a versatile scent you can wear everyday. So far, everyone I asked loves that scent.
There are lots of ways to guess what a woman might like. One might be through her age group. For example, I was told, as a teen, that older women love White Musk. I hated it then. As I got older, I ended up buying white musk because a few of my friends loved it. I thought it was okay. My mom-in-law said it stank. And I was thinking of getting her a white musk gift set as a gift since it supposedly appeals to older women. Duh.
Fragrance is subjective. What one woman might love, another might hate. A younger woman might prefer older classics that the salesgirl might push to grandmothers. An older woman might like a fresh, citrusy fragrance that is marketed for teens. Age is not a good indicator as to what a woman might like.
Neither is the media image. Though sometimes, the ad campaign may be so good, a girl's got to have that fragrance just because it seems so cool and everyone is talking about it. Without the ad campaign, she might have given it a pass.
The best way to choose a fragrance as a gift for a woman, young or old, is to pay attention to the fragrances she prefers? Does she have a favourite brand? If she wears a few fragrances from Estee Lauder, she would probably like the other fragrances they launch.
Does she prefer complex fragrances like Beautiful, or Poison, or Pleasures or does she only wear scents that have a single note like a rose scent or a lemon scent or a frangipanni scent?
Does she always wear citrusy fragrances that smell of lemons and oranges?
Lancome O de Lancome perfume is a fragrance with citrus notes. L'OCCITANE Citrus Verbena Summer Fragrance is another citrus scent to try. If she often smells of orange, lemons or bergamot, if she likes fresh citrusy, scents, get her one of these citrus perfumes

Florals and citrus scents are the most popular fragrances among women. Bill Blass is an intoxicating floral perfume with tuberose. One of my favourites.
Escada perfumes are florals for the more refined noses. Those who hate cheap perfumes would love escada perfume. Here are more floral perfumes.
